Why are we doing this study?

Workers in a variety of occupations encounter workplace exposures that may have health effects. These exposures can include chemicals, physical, and/or mental stressors.

We are trying to gain a better understanding about how World Trade Center exposures during the events of 9/11 may be affecting the health of the disaster and recovery workers.

The COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic may have also had significant effects on you, your health, life and family. We are interested in studying these effects. The information you can provide us with right now can help us understand and evaluate the public health response during this crisis.

Am I eligible to help?

If you have ever been employed in the greater New York City region you may qualify to take part in this study.  ALL jobs and industries are encouraged to participate.  You MUST be at least 18 years of age.

If you were a first responder or volunteer during the events of  9/11 that participated in the rescue, recovery, debris cleanup, or related support services, you will not be eligible.  However, you can still contribute to the research. Please, click this link to learn more: World Trade Center Health Program.
